I wrote a week or so ago about help getting my pictures off of my laptop
which suddenly would not boot to windows because of a missing dll file.
Well, I ended up taking it to a computer repair service and he did retrieve
them and then used the restore disks to get me back up and running. Since
then however, I am noticing a difference in my outlook express messages. My
laptop (the one that was reformatted) is getting many more emails than my
desktop (they are wirelessly connected through a router). The computer
repairman suggested that I purchase Norton Antivirus 2004 for the laptop so
I did. The desktop uses AVG. In going through my emails since I brought
the laptop home from the "doctor" last week I see that many, many more
messages are being downloaded on the laptop....and I'm not talking about any
spam......just regular emails. In fact for some reason on July 31, Aug 1
and 2 there are almost no emails on my desktop but many on the laptop on
those days. I have not changed anything on the desktop through all this
time. The laptop is running XP and the desktop Windows 98, but before the
restore they were always downloading the same messages. Even these PCSOFT
messages are not now coming through regularly (they're hit and miss) to the
desktop. Any ideas? Thanks.
