Have I changed a setting in Word?  Anytime I open a new document or try to edit and old one, I press a key and the entire line is blacked out.  I can continue typing (not seeing anything), hit return and the back line is doubled.  If I scroll to the end of the document and back up, all of my tying is there.  This is cumbersome to say the least.
The cursor's appearance seems to be heavier and darker than usual.  What have I done?
