The first question would be: Why does she want a second modem? Unless you
are using Windows NT and connecting to two separate phone lines, and your
ISP allows multiple concurrent connections, there does not seem to be any
purpose to having two modems.

It can be done; but why?

uter-two modems
Hello, My daughter has an IBM Aptiva, Pentium 166, with internal 28.8 modem.
She would like to install a second modem that would be dedicated to medical
transcribing. Please tell me the pros and cons of having two modems in one
computer, and how to go about installing a second modem, probably an
external one. Thank you
