Good morning,
I posted this yesterday morning but have not seen any
replies/suggestions so far.
I have a client with Win98, IE5, and OE 5. He often receives *.eml
messages attached to mail. If the eml file is MIME encoded, he sees an
empty window when he opens the paper clip. BUT... if he right-clicks the
message and selects PROPERTIES - DETAILS - MESSAGE SOURCE,
the entire message IS there.
Usually this occurs when the original message has been attached and/or
forwarded through several people, such as: Person A sends it to Person B
who sends it to Person C and so on, with the last person (and maybe
others?) creating an attachment.
Here is a portion of the header (of the outer-most message)
as displayed in the message source window:
X-Mailer: Microsoft Internet Mail 4.70.1162
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: multipart/mixed;
boundary="----=_NextPart_000_01BEB90B.0BBBFA00"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
X-UIDL: c525077ad86dda26fdbabe999eb7c0fa
This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
------=_NextPart_000_01BEB90B.0BBBFA00
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

I have looked all through OE option dialogs and can not find anything even
remotely connected to this phenomenon.
