You can use the function COUNTIF.

For example, if you have your daily entries in row 3, and you're using columns B through H for days of the week, you could use this formula in cell I3: =0*COUNTIF(B3:H3,"RD")+13*COUNTIF(B3:H3,"A")+...

I think you get the picture.
