I also have SBCGlobal (DSL) and it does indeed go through prodigy. I use this account strictly for PCSOFT.

Subject: [PCSOFT] E-mail header information
I was experimenting with sending of mail using Outlook 2003 and tried to
suppress the display of the e-mail address in the "from" field of the
received message. Since Outlook does not allow a blank value when setting up
an e-mail account, I simply put the word "none" in the field. When I sent a
message to one of my e-mail accounts using this new account setting, I
received the message showing that the message was from "St Innocent Parish
[[log in to unmask]]". The "St Innocent Parish" part is what I put in
for the name, but where did the prodigy.net part come from? The header
information shows that this message did come through prodigy. I sent it
through my SMTP server with sbcglobal.net (uses Yahoo). Is there a
connection between Yahoo/sbcglobal and Prodigy?

A second question pertains to my original goal. Is there a way to avoid
including the e-mail address from the "From" field when using Outlook?

Thank you for any info.

Peter
-----------------------------------------------
The NoSpin Group
[log in to unmask]

"Hold No Punches.."
