I've gotten OE 5 working again thanks to some tips from another mailing
list.
It ended up being a corrupted IDENTITY key in the Registry's current user
section.
After I deleted the offending keys, OE installed and ran on the first try.
Once again, this shows the need for good third party uninstall software.
The Windows ADD/REMOVE SOFTWARE just didn't cut it.
Although - to be honest - Uninstaller didn't get rid of the registry entries
either.
But it DID point out the problem when I ran it's "cleanup" routines.
