Juno latest release versions of software does/did the same thing,
e.g., takeover your system. My sister had latest version of Juno
installed on her machine. She wanted another free internet software
as a backup in case Juno software had problems. So she attempted to
download Netzero software using Juno software and was prohibited from
downloading the Netzero software. It became a challenge as to how she
could accomplish her goal. She claimed the Juno software just took
over her system and limited her in many various ways.
She managed to get a copy of Netzero free internet software on CDROM
and was going to load it when she read the announcement about Juno and
Netzero "coming together". So she didn't bother loading the software.
It is my opinion, from inputs from her, Juno free internet software
(even the limited pay plan - something like $4.95/$6.95) is not worth
the hassle. She claims performance is terrible and very difficult to
get online with them. After a period of logged on time, she gets
automatically kicked off, etc. Doesn't sound too promising IMO.
