While creating a document in Word 97, I accidentally put my fingers on wrong
keyboard row, down in the ALT/CONTROL/SHIFT corner somewhere, and "created"
in the document a heavy, horizontal line about 1/4" long. The line responded
to mouse exactly like the curser responds. Thinking I would back out of the
document and just say DO NOT SAVE CHANGES, I hit the "exit" command in the
File pull down menu. The black line seemed to disappear into the exit
command box, and the Exit box disappeared along with the black line. I have
been unable to restore the EXIT box, although all other functions in Word
work properly. I can use the small x in upper right to close Word documents,
but I am without the EXIT BOX. Can you tell me how to restore it? Thank you
very much. Please help!!
If my explanation is unclear or you need further information, please contact
me. This seems to be a problem I cannot correct for myself. I apprreciate
your attention.
