On most Compaqs I have seen, when the machine gets to the point where you
can access the bios, the flashing curser will be on the left, then suddenly,
it will jump to the right and flash for a few seconds. This is the point
when pressing F10 will access the bios. If you miss it, reboot and try
again. Sometimes it takes awhile to get the timing right so it will open the
bios.
