Dorothy: The easy way is to, hold your Shift Key down , then insert the disk, Wait for disk to stop spinning, Then let off the Shift key, This way the Disk will not try to Autoplay, I find this easer than messing with the setting's.

Subject: Annoying Autoplay

Hello Folks
I hope someone can helpme with something which is driving me nuts.

I've just purchaced an HP notebook and enjoying learning how to use it but
for one thing. I need to transfer files from my main PC via a CD rom but the
notebook hs a DVD drive. When I insert the CD which it is supposed to read,
the Autoplay starts and tries to read it as an audio CD. How do I turn off
the Autoplay?
The notebook runs Windows XP Professional.
