Actually this is a simple one. You can't change file attributes on ANY file
when it's open. (Always remember that.) Using windows explorer, navigate to
the folder that contains the files (on your hard drive, not a CD) and right
click on them one at a time. Then select properties and change the file
attribute. Now when you open them they will they will have the new
attributes that you have set. (my suggestion for the file attribute is
archive)

Subject: [PCSOFT] Tough One
This is a challenge.
I had to reformat my disk and prepared for this by copying data from my
Lotus 123 spreadsheet to be reinstaalled in the new install of Lotus on
the reformatted disk. I did not chek the copy I made and when I went to
install the copy on the reinstall I found that the copies had been saved
as "read only." Here is the problem:I cannot change this attribute using
the usal means by opening Properties. So I am hoping that someone who may
have had this problem and solved it will come to my rescue. I'm hoping.
My thanks in advance.
Arthur
