I used to have this same problem until I got a tip from someone on the
list on how to turn off this automatic update. I forget exactly how to
do it, but I think it is the following ...
In Outlook Express, choose the Tools option on the menu bar. Next
choose Options and then click on the Read tab. At the bottom of this
window, click on the International Settings button. In this next
window, make sure the "Use default encoding for all incoming messages"
option is checked. If this does not help, please reply to the group
again.
