Elizabeth, how about getting rid of IE & Internet Mail and using
Netscape instead? I work part time at the help desk for a local ISP, and
by far the largest number of email problem calls I handle involve the
various MS products (Internet Mail, Outlook, etc.).

I can recall only one or two trouble calls involving Netscape, and they
were simply a matter of something like having a typo in the mail server
name. Netscape's email function is a snap to set up and use--I highly
recommend it.  (BTW, the ISP I work for does not distribute either IE or
Netscape--the above are my personal views.)
