I have a Lenovo laptop running XP Pro that is about 4 years old that I only use occasionally. Getting ready for a trip I took it out and find that IE doesn't seem to be working. It launches but hangs up. When I click to close it eventually I get a "not responding" error message. To by-pass the IE problem I downloaded the Google Chrome setup on my desktop and tried installing that on my laptop. Everything works in the install process for awhile but finally I get an error message saying "Installer download failed Error code 0x80072efd".

What can I do to get a browser back on the machine?

Maybe try FireFox?
