Novell 3.12 will run fine with Win 3.1, and you can run 3.1 on a 286 with
MB memory, IF you only run it in standard mode.  The problem really isn't
with your processor, it's that 2MB RAM is not enough to run most programs
on a Novell workstation, but neither is 6 really.  You should really be
looking at a minimum of 8MB.

I need to enter the mysterious world of networks.

I  want to set up a small network with:
3 x  286 (2 meg RAM)
1 x  486SX (6 meg)
1 x  Cyrix 686/200+ (64 meg)

I have access to Novell 3.12.

My question: will Novell run with Win 3.1.?
I can't install Win 3.11 on the 286s, it wants 386 or above.

From what I know, it will run on 3.1 fine. However, I think you wont be
able to use the 286 for Novell either.
