I assume you are taking about the desktop picture and are running XP. Right
click on the desktop and select properties. Then select the "Desktop" tab.
There you will see a listing of available backgrounds. You may chose one of
those showing up, or use the browse button to select a picture of your own.
Note also the "Position" option which needs to be selected according to the
type of picture you chose. I usually use "stretch" for my desktop.

I was signing up for an offer, and they put up a background pic to sell an
item which I did not want, now I cannot get rid of the background photo.
Even when I shut down my computer and restart, the photo appears on my icon
start page. Help me get rid of it.
