You can bring up <history> which will show all your previous links, and
which will bring the result of a search up. However, you can not scroll
though the search parameters within the search input box, like you can with
IE. I wrote Opera Tech support about this was their reply

Opera has decided not to implement this feature, as it is considered a big
privacy risk. Automatically saving form data on public computers means
others will be able to get access to anything anyone has entered into
forms, which might very well include personal data like private mail
details or bank information.

You can however enter information that you often use in forms that will be
offered as autocompletion dropdowns. This can be things like your name,
address and email, or anything else you frequently find yourself writing.
This feature is available from Tools > Preferences > Wand.

Hope this helps, have a nice day!

You should consider upgrading the version 8.52, it has many more useful
features.
