Not to sure if this will be helpful but here goes:
What is " add-ons under tools in FF "
If the FF in your question is referring to the Firefox browser, the
"Add-ons" selection gives you access to the following features of Firefox:
Get Add-ons - Add-ons are small pieces of software that add new features
or functionality to your installation of Firefox
Extensions - Extensions can be used to modify the behavior of
existing features to the application or add entirely new features
Appearance - Where the default theme for the browser is stored. New
themes can be added.
Plugins - Plugins like Flash and Java are Firefox add-ons used
to display some interactive content
Services - Services let you integrate the features of a site like
Facebook right into Firefox
Essentially, all of the above are Add-ons. You have a settings button on
each page that allows you to select "check for updates automatically" or
to manually check for updates. Don't be afraid to go into the Add-ons
page. If you kill a feature, you can always go and reload it.
Recently, because it was discovered that Java 7-11 had a opening for
hackers to use, Firefox automatically is turning it off. But it provides
a pop-up window letting you know that a webpage wants to use Java, and
it gives you the option to enable Java for that session.
The Add-ons feature lets you configure Firefox the way you want it to
work for you. Have fun with it.
