Brad,

The formula should look something like this:
=AVERAGE(sheet_one!C3:C100)

If there are NO numbers in any of the cells within the
range, then you are performing division by zero.  There
has to be at least one numerical entry for the average function
to work correctly.

By the way, there is no need to select 100 rows of "future use" cells.
Just include the first blank row below the existing data when you
create the range for the average function.  The next time you need to
add more data, go to that first blank row and INSERT ROW.  Your
range will automatically expand to include the newly inserted rows.
