Hi, Diane,
Please, do the following:  When you click the Icon "connect to AT&T
worldnet" the connection manager shows up- Click -Options- and on " connect
options" uncheck (automatically connect when your network application is
started".
See if "Prompt before dialing" is Unchecked, if not do it.
The only things that must be checked are "Hide status windows after
connecting" and "Prompt before disconnecting"
Now, click OK.
I suggest to reboot after this and then try your normal connection.
