I wouldn't bother trying to figure this out, but you can get help at the
AVG forums if you wish.
Uninstall AVG, install MS Security Essentials, which is free and getting
good press.

Subject: [PCSOFT] Help with AVG 9.0

Since I installed AVG Paid Edition 9.0, I have been getting a lot of
time-outs and all too often, my browser is redirected to something
called search.avg.com -- which Web page does not exist so naturally I
get an error message. This happened three times this morning, and once
this evening the software would not even allow access to my home page!
When this happens, I usually have to restart my computer, but sometimes
I have to restart more than once! It's getting to be a royal pain...

Running Windows XP Home, SP 3 with Mozilla Firefox as my browser.
Thanks in advance for any help here!
