  Because the DNS that comes with WinNT (Server?) is designed to
cooperate with WINS (which provides similar service for NetBIOS), it
is not quite compatible with DNS implementations that follow the RFC
standards.
  For this reason, everyone I know providing DNS on an NT host is
running a version of BIND, ported from Unix to NT.
