I see where you mean, but this is a "just let me get a foot in the door" come-on, I think. It says you can "try it TODAY - and then it has the current date (which changes each day). It probably just scans and then tells you you have some kind of spyware and then tries to get you to buy their product to remove it. I have run things like this only to find that I did NOT have the spyware they claimed I had. The software may be fine or it may not, but I seriously doubt it will actually remove any dangerous files without you buying their product and if you run that scan you may end up with future popups trying to sell you the product.

This appeared to be a site offering a free SCAN to try to SELL you spyware removal software. Are you saying that somewhere on that site there is FREE SOFTWARE that will actually REMOVE backweb? I wasn't able to find anything like that at this site - where is it?

Go to http://www.pcorion.com/ and download a free app to remove it. It is spyware. If you want to find out more do a google search for backweb.
