Subject: [PCSOFT] Uninstalling Internet explorer 5

My friend has upgraded his internet explorer version 4 to 5 and this version
was running fine.. During the process of using IE5 content advisor got
enabled, and as he new of no password , or the the procedure to disable
it,he manually deleted the entries of IE 5 found in the directory with the
intention of reloading IE5 again. This exercise led to the corruption of
registry which was reported by windows and which was subsequently corrrected
by windows itself.
When he tried to load internet explorer 5 again , the systems prevents him
from loading by saying that IE 5 is already loaded. As he has already
deleted most of the entries wherever he could found, he does not have a
working IE5 nor could he load one.
As a result he is forced to use netscape navigator.
Appreciate if some one could come up with a bit of advise to make possible
load IE5 again from afresh
Thanks

Mansoor,

Tell your friend to click 'control panel / add-remove programs'. On the
Install / uninstall tab, search the list and highlight "Microsoft Internet
Explorer 5" and click the add/remove button. Now a window opens which gives
3 options - tell him to select "Restore the previous Windows configuration".
This will remove IE5 and should safely revert back to IE4. He should then be
able to reload IE5. Hope this helps.
