Hi Walter;
I had the same problem with my XP Home system and ZoneAlarm Free. I
tried several things but what finally worked was to close ZoneAlarm and then
restart it. When first booting the system access to the internet lasted only
a few minutes. After restarting ZoneAlarm it would no longer cause me
problems. Sometimes I would have to shut it down and restart it twice for it
to operate properly.
I recently formatted my drive and reinstalled all software. With this
clean install I have not had the problem with ZoneAlarm. Sorry that I can't
offer you a more useful solution, but it might help temporarily.
Bill

Subject: [PCSOFT] ZoneAlarm Problem?
For awhile now I've been having this problem with the latest version of
ZoneAlarm Free edition on my Windows 2000 Pentium III computer. When I
connect to the internet I'm able to use it for a short period of time and
after that the pages do not fully load or don't load at all. Even when I
try updating my software it says I am not connected. Only when I shutdown
ZoneAlarm everything works fine. I have done a complete uninstall of the
program and even installed the previous version, but to no avail. Also, I
went to ZoneAlarm's site, but could not find any answers. Is this a
ZoneAlarm problem or is it some sort of conflict with ZoneAlarm or another
problem altogether? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Additional Details:
Compaq Deskpro EN 733MHz
384 MB of SDRAM
ZoneAlarm Free 6.5
