Harry there are 2 ways of doing this: easy and not so easy. To save yourself
a lot of headaches I would simply use your windows install cd (98)? and
reinstall outlookexpress or download it off the microsoft website.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows98/downloads/
. That way all of the settings pertaining to file associations and email
will be directed back to outlook express.
The hard way of doing it is to go to your Windows not IE explorer and click
on view/folderoptions/file types. From there click on every single type
associated with email and manually change each association back to Outlook
express by going to the edit/actions for each file. This is a long and
tedious process which is better off not done if you can avoid it. And of
course the above instructions are for Win98 only. Since you didn't mention
your OS I just took a shot in the dark.
Hope this helps
