sounds like maybe the A: drive is working in dos
but hidden in windows
If you have tweakui, part of microsoft powertoys
go to - "my computer/drives" and make sure
there is a check mark by the A: drive.

owertoySetup.exe
cut and paste the entire url if it's cut off.
