You can partition a hard drive using the program FDISK that is a DOS
based utility that comes with Win9x. Partitioning on NT or Windows
2000/XP is done using Disk Manager. This is done BEFORE you install any
OS. If you need to change the partitions after installing an OS, you may
do so using Partition Magic (a commercial product - about $60). Some
shareware is out there do similar things but I can't point you to any
specific one.
Note to moderators: should partitioning topics be on PCBUILD?

OK, based on what I've read on this list, partitioning the hard drive so
I can isolate the operating system makes a lot of sense. Two questions:
1 - Do I have to have special software to do this?
2 - Can I (or do I have to) do it after the operating system is
installed?
OK, a third question . . . any tutorials out there on how to do it?
