I dont know about 3.51, but in NT ver 4.0 this is done via
the Replication Services. On the PDC any file in
c:\winnt\system32\repl\export is copied automatically to all
of the BDCs in the domain into the
c:\winnt\system32\repl\import directory, this handles the
login scripts. In Server Manager/User Manager, there is an
option to sync all the settings in the user profiles every x
number of minutes. I have mine set for every 15 minutes.
The permssions and access rights are kept at the file &
directory level, so the change is recognized instantly.
My net is 1 PDC, 4 BDC's and 450 clients. & 2,500 different
users.
