Perhaps the version of IE you have doesn't give that option. I'm using the
upgrade that comes with XP SP2, (which is
6.0.2900.2180.xp_sp2_rtm.040803-2185). In the toolbar (where it says File,
Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, Help... Clicking on "Favorites" opens a menu
giving an exact list of favorites. Then by right clicking on any favorite
opens another menu and the second selection from the bottom shows "Sort By
Name". Are you possibly opening Favorites by clicking on the Favorites
button and trying this on the left side of the screen?
