I'm not sure what the prob could be with the Windows download manager,
someone else here might have an idea.
But you'll get better downloading results generally by using GetRight. This
is a very good downloader, I've used it for 6-7 years now. You can get a
trial version here:
http://www.getright.com/
If anything goes wrong with a download, GetRight will resume where it left
off. Plus you can queue a number of downloads, set it to turn off the PC
when it's finished and heaps of other handy facilities.
It should be noted however, that a small percentage of sites won't 'let it
in', in which case the download defaults back to the native Windows
downloader.
