I would recommend using Musicmatch. It is an MP3 player that will :
A) Convert songs from a CD to MP3 format.
B) Convert MP3 files to CD format for burning a CD.
It is Free, but if you want the version that is designed for this specific
purpose then you can buy it. www.musicmatch.com
As for starting automatically, if you have your CD setup to start
automatically in it's properties, then it should.
