Start your PC on a bootable system disk from the A drive. You need to
copy format.com from your C drive to the bootable disk. Once the system
has booted up on the A drive, type the command "format c: /u /v /s". The
/u is an unconditional formay command and will not create a recovery file
based upon the files that were on your C drive. The /v command tells the
software to verify each sector that is being formatted. Lastly, the /s
command places the system files, Command.com and the two hidden files,
onto the newly formatted C drive.
