Hello Kathleen, I'm thinking that as with any program upgrade it just
depends on how you go about managing your computer hard drive.

I have a Compaq Presario Pentium 2 with 128Mgb of RAM completely managed
through Norton System Works upgraded all the way from Win95/IE4.01 to
Win98SE/IE5.5 and it runs hot straight and normal all the time. After I do
an upgrade I always Scandisk & Defrag with the Norton.

Many comments on PCSOFT have advised against downloading the latest version
of Windows Media Player so that I have not done.

It gets so I even like to get the odd error message and program shut
down....can't remember the last time I had a "blue screen". It wouldn't
matter because Norton just kicks in and starts scanning and fixing the
glitches right before your eyes. I used to get some problems when I had
Netscape as a browser but since I've changed to IE it runs much smoother.
Now I just get the usual DirectX mess-up once in awhile which you seem to
have to live with.

Hope this helps you in some way.

Ric Blaine
