John:
You probably get the message you described,
"Missing Shortcut--Windows is searching for WillowRd.exe. To locate the
file yourself , click browse."
because for some reason the WillowRoad screensaver or a related file needed
to start-up with Windows. Look in your start-up folder to see if you have
anything called Willow-Road, if you do, then delete it, and the problem
should go away. If not, then go to Start-->Run..., and type in "msconfig." Go
to the "Startup" tab, and you will see 3 columns, the first is a row of
checkmark boxes, the second a list of files that execute upon Windows
starting up, and the third is where Windows thinks the files are located.
Look for anything that says WillowRoads, and uncheck it. Make sure the third
column points to a file called "WillowRd.exe." When the program ask you to
restart, click OK. The problem should be gone.
If you have XP, the run command may not work, and you will need to go to
"System Information," which is usually located somewhere in the Accessories
program menu on the Start-->Programs menu. From "System Information," I
believe there is a Tools menu on the top toolbar, which has a "Configuration"
or "start-up" entry that will then bring you to the same window as explained
before.
Hope this helps, and wasn't too confusing.
