I'm having trouble locating a display driver for an old compaq that has no
model number but a sticker on front with a serial number. When I use the
serial number I get info for a specific model but none of the drivers listed
works.I tried them all starting with the oldest and working my way up. I just went
through this with another old compaq and things worked out fine after
loading the earliest released driver.

This computer came from some computer 'rookies' that I suspect may have
changed the mobo. If so can I transfer a copy of Belarc Adviser from my home
computer via CD to detect it or is Belarc reliant on an internet connection to
determine system components?

This is an issue only because I"m also having trouble getting a modem
driver to work. The serial number label on the mobo is damaged beyond reading.

 Any Hope?

     Thanks,
