Subject: Moving PageKeeper to a New Drive: Follow-Up
From: Bryan S. Tyson ([log in to unmask])
In an earlier post, I write:
<< I recently upgraded my hard drive, and I am trying to figure out how to
move
all the work I've done in Caere PageKeeper to the new drive.>>
For anyone else who might encounter this issue, here is the response I
received from Caere tech support: What you need to do is move over the
"pkdatapath" as well as your saved files (Documents) to your new hard drive.
As mentioned in my earlier post to this list, I did in fact try to do this.
The reason it failed was one of the necessary files would not copy because it
was "in use." I finally realized that "PageKeeper Jobs" was running in the
system tray. Closing that allowed me to copy the entire pkdatapath folder to
my new drive. This, combined with retaining the same drive letter and
directory structure, allowed my previous work to show up in the new
PageKeeper installation on the new hard drive.
