Ron,

Download Avast Home from their web site. It's free, completely automatic,
and also the best at finding viruses. Here it is:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
Avast will check for viruses while in windows then reboot your computer to
check at the DOS level. All virus updates are automatic.

Remember one thing. All virus checkers use virus pattern files to locate
the virus. Sometime you might get a virus that is new and the virus company
has not yet released the pattern. So if it doesn't get rid of the virus,
wait a day or two, then try again. Make sure that the virus is quarantined
in a safe place. Avast will do that for your automatically if you request
it to (in the initial setup). If any virus could damage your computer
setup, it will probably do the damage in the first few milliseconds, so be
careful of anything you open (know who it is from), specially over the
Internet.
