Eric, when you say you uninstalled AOL do you mean you just removed it in
your control panel? If so then it's not really removed. AOL is
unbelievably insidious in the things that it puts into your computer and the
things it associates and messes with. If you do a file search and remove
everything that says AOL (I mean, everything that is clearly an AOL file)
and reboot that may help. I have had the same problem myself and so have
others I have known. I even got rid of my AIM some time back, not just
because of the way AOL finds ways to get into the computer and insinuate
itself into other things, but because it's very insecure. Maybe this will
work for you.
