Will's suggestion of RegClean is a good one. And viewing the boot
log is another good idea.
But I think Will is a little confused about the boot process.
When a PC boots and loads windows, you see the windows logo and
then the screen blanks for a short period and then the windows
logo reappears. During that blank period, windows is executing
any instructions/commands in the config.sys and autoexec.bat
files. Once these are done, the logo reappears, THEN windows
actually starts loading. And at the same time starts recording
information into the bootlog file.
DLL stands for Dynamically Linked Library, windows loads and unloads
these items as needed. They are not all loaded into ram at start up.
