I was able solve my problem by Disabling the LMHosts option in Windows 2000.
1. Goto Start/Settings/Network Dial Up Options
2. Open up the Network or Dial Up option that uses the Internet.
3. In the New Window that appears, click on Properties.
4. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), then click on Properties.
5. In Internet Protocol TCPIP Properties Window click on Properties.
6 In Advanced TCP/IP click on the WINS tab.
7. Uncheck the LMHOST check box.
This Worked for me, and should work if your running Windows 2000.

I have a similar problem. Where is this "Windows Hosts file" so I can
change it to see if this corrects the problem?
