  For compatibility with the widest range of browsers, I don't think you can
beat providing two versions of the site, must as one sometimes sees sites
that offer a choice of framed or non-framed versions.  A sound on/off button
on each page links the sound-andabled and -disabled versions of the page to
each other, and all links to other pages on the site link to versions with
the same sound option as the current page.  Images, etc, can be shared by
both versions, so the space requirement is probably not as great as one might
fear.  That just leaves keeping the versions in sync, and I think FrontPage
makes managing that not too awful.
