Hi Brian,
The "Locate Link Browser" error usually appears when you click on a
link in a message, rather than opening a message
Nevertheless you've got a file association problem.
There are several ways to deal with that.
You may have already tried this, but you can start with the simplest
and work your way down.
If it doesn't work under your account, use the Admin account or go into
Safe Mode or change permissions to make the changes.
1.If you have a stored .msg file - r-click it and select Properties.
It will tell you which program it opens with.Change it to Outlook.
2.You can also r-click and select Open With.
Again select Outlook from the list.If not listed browse to the Outlook
executable.Tick the box - Always use the selected program etc.
3.Open Windows Explorer or My Documents.Click Folder Options (Tools >
Folder Options)
Select MSG from the list.It should say that it Opens with Outlook.
If not > Change or Restore button.
There are several small utilities that will help with this as well.
Simple:
File Association Wizard -requires VB6 runtime files
http://www.freevbcode.com/ShowCode.asp?ID=370
File Association Editor - requires VB5 runtime

XP Associate

You could also use a Registry cleaner to detect missing or corrupt file
associations.
Just one example http://www.glarysoft.com/rr.html
You can also compare the Registry settings on both computers
in the hive HKCR (HKEY CLASSES ROOT) .msg extension
Copy (use) the one that's working and create the same setup in the one
that isn't.
However, doing it outside the Registry is easier for most people.
