The num lock light should be on.

You will need to give us more details about the link problem.
Can she connect to her ISP?
Who is her ISP?
What web browser is she using, Netscape, AOL,
MSIE, something else?
What does the link look like? Text? graphics? color? underlined or not?
etc. etc. etc.

The more details you can give us, the better (more accurate)
our answer will be.

I have a friend with a new computer that will not do anything when she
