A similar situation occurs when updating Grisoft's AVG 6.0 Anti-Virus
System. It has been my experience that the DAT update and program revision
files stored in the folder _:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG6\UPDATE (*.bin) can
be safely deleted after they are automatically extracted and installed by
the application.

Does anybody have information that indicates otherwise?

I am specifically familiar with InoculateIT PE and there is no reason to
keep the DAT files once you have installed them.
