For a project of the size suggested you need a properly designed book
publishing program. With out a doubt Corel's Ventura is the best for
publishing books (just about all Bibles are published using Ventura).

Ventura version 8 will run under Win 95/98, ME and 2000. Ventura version
10 (there is no 9) needs Win XP.

Originally I purchased Ventura to produce a coloured magazine. In
addition, I found it easier to use to than Word to produce all sorts of
documents. It has capabilities that leave MS Word for dead (too numerous
to mention here) and is much quicker to use than QuarkExpress or
Indesign. Well worth the money.

There are a couple of newsgroups specialising in Ventura and people
using these groups are most helpful.

Account - cnews.corel.ca
For Ventura 8 - corel.graphic_apps.ventura8
For Ventura 10 - corel.graphic_apps.ventura10

A few work OK, but in one 20 page sequence there were 81 photographs. I separated it into 3 files, but still had a lot of difficulty. I am projecting that there will be 500 to 600 pages with 150 to 250 photos. Besides keeping my files small, any other suggestions, or any suggested software that isn't expensive that would work easier?
