What version of IE?
What is the exact message you get?
What security suite do you use?
For most people, a combination of Microsoft Security Essentials and an
occasional spyware scan is completely adequate for protection. Keep
you AV and Windows updated.
This is probably not the fault of I but of some other security program
you have running, or malware of some kind.
Check your IE add ons and run a scan with Malwarebytes

I haven't used IE for a long time, and suggest you use Chrome or
Firefox for added security.
