Since DOS could not recognize some FAT used by Windows 95, I suggest your
son make his desktop as client, and laptop as server. This way, will make
Windows 95 read and write his laptop harddisk.
The easiest way, just make a bootable disk for his desktop, and copy
interlnk.exe from the laptop to the disk. Make a config.sys file as usual
and insert:
DEVICE=INTERLNK.EXE
Run intersvr.exe at laptop, and boot the desktop with the disk. If the cable
connected properly, he would be able to access files at the laptop from his
desktop...
Hope this helps..
