Nicki: I have two suggestions:

1. Dump some of those fonts. Fonts are like molasses in your machine. I
think any more than 40 - 50 will cause problems. Do you really need 100?

2. Disable Microsoft Office Fast Find, this is known to hog resources and
cause a slow down.
